Life inside a refugee camp: Stories from the ground

Jaz and Nils O’hara, co-founders of The Worldwide Tribe and former residents of "Calais Jungle”, bring their talk Life inside a Refugee Camp to Byline Festival.  It is their mission to highlight the humanity behind world issues, inspire global community and leave a legacy of positive, social change.

In this instance Jaz and Nils provide an intimate view of life inside a refugee camp with attention being given to (among many other things) the individual stories of those in the camps, the power of social media to effect societal change and how to counter-act the fear-based narrative we currently find all around us.

The talk features footage of their first-hand experiences within a refugee camp and will explore the minutiae as well as the greater aspects of the refugee crisis and the humanitarian sector as a whole.
