Dirty governments and dodgy politics

A discussion of the various types of political corruption (shorthand for organised undermining of democracy by powerful interests) I have encountered within multiple investigative projects. The examples used to illustrate these points will be primarily NZ- and US-based, but on issues that remain relevant in the UK and elsewhere.

Emily Menkes is a young investigative journalist from New Zealand. She was involved in a book about civilian deaths and prisoner torture in Afghanistan at the hands of the NZ SAS. Also. she worked for the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists in Washington DC at the time of yhe Offshore Leaks launch.
