Miriam Jordan Keane, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, NCS Trust
After 25 years of jumping schizophrenically between marketing organisations and
advertising agencies, Miriam’s one constant has been a passion for creative thinking and
ideas, the braver, the better. She will share her thoughts, hopefully some of them
challenging, on how to retain creative bravery in a world that seems to have lost appetite
for it in favour of following the safer path.
It’s likely she’ll touch on nudging rather than shouting and how to hold onto your nerve
when others are losing theirs.
Kim McCabe is founder director of Rites for Girls CIC and author of Amazon best-seller ‘From Daughter to Woman, parenting girls safely through their teens’; she works with preteen and teen girls, supports their parents, trains women to guide girls through adolescence and talks to sell-out halls of parents around the country.
How to parent through turbulent times whether you’ve got a budding Greta Thunberg or one who can barely raise their face from a screen. The kids who care don’t understand why we don’t seem to be doing anything; and they’re hurt by our inactivity and full of righteous rage. We’re losing their respect. The kids who don’t seem bothered are too busy blasting each other on Fortnite or sharing cute kitten pics to see what’s really happening around them. Either way, we adults are getting it wrong. Come figure out how we can do it differently.

This workshop is designed to show how you can produce, quality video content with little or no budget. We will cover fundamentals such as camera, audio, lighting and editing software. As well as basic scripting, shooting, and interview techniques. In addition we'll discuss how video is used to engage and inform audiences through social media. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or people who'd like to build on their existing film making knowledge.
Donna McPhail, award-winning stand-up comic, writer, radio presenter, and, of course, a co-owner of 100% community-owned Lewes FC. Donna is a seasoned football fan and an incorrigible chanter of dodgy anthems. In this workshop she uses her unique performance experience to unearth the latent football chanter and terrace warrior in all of us. She is inspired by the New Zealand Women’s Rugby team’s Haka, and proud of it.
Karen Dobres one of Lewes FC’s Board Directors, to give a potted version of the submerged history of women’s football, and also by players from Lewes FC Women who will personally explain how it feels to be supported by chanting fans (The Twelfth Woman).
Stella Scordellis is a professional photographer with over 35 years experience. In 1997 she set up SMS Creative Photography, a well respected Surrey based lifestyle and portrait studio.
As a result of her successful relationships with her clients, in 2012 the ’Stella’ brand was born, photographing classic and super cars and automotive events such as the British Grand Prix.
The workshop is about learning how to take professional looking photographs with your iPhone, using focus, exposure and composition and apps such as Lightroom and Photoshop. Bring your iPhone and plenty of enthusiasm to be guided through the process with technical information and a lot of practical and fun experimentation. So come along to Tent 2 on Sunday 25th August and give your legs a rest and let your fingers do the walking.
The people who would benefit most are those who post images frequently on social media or use images to promote themselves or their businesses or anyone who just wants to learn how to get the best out of the camera on their iPhone.
Hilary Gallo has a background as a negotiator and for the past few years, alongside his work solving problems for entrepreneurs, has been running Fear Hack workshops. As someone who is used to solving problems, Hilary has a radically different approach to fear. These workshops have now led to his second book - “Fear Hack”.
Anxious? Not doing that thing? Want to make a shift and get on with it? In this workshop Hilary Gallo gets us to re-frame our relationship with fear. What happens as if we start to treat it as a friend and a valuable resource? Here we get to see what Fear really is and instead of having to conquer it, find a way to work through it.
